A situação no Afeganistão está cada vez melhor!

Agora até já se mata grávidas com a posterior tentativa de encobrir tudo!

Primeiro a NATO tentou passar a ideia de que encontraram duas mulheres mortas ao matar uns quantos insurgentes. Aparentemente o plano inicial era fazer com que tudo parecesse ser homicídio de honra. Sim leram bem! Forças da NATO assassinaram duas mulheres civis e não relacionadas com insurgentes e em vez de admitir o erro tentou passar as culpas para os radicais islâmicos.

Mas a história não acaba aqui!

As forças da NATO irromperam por um edifício da polícia durante a noite. Durante a confusão o comandante correu pelo quintal, provavelmente para averiguar o que se passava, e foi alvejado. O irmão do comandante tentou falar com os atiradores dizendo "Não disparem, trabalhamos para o governo!". Como resposta também o irmão do comandante foi alvejado, assim como três mulheres que se encontravam atrás dele, duas das quais se encontravam grávidas.
Após isto os familiares das pessoas alvejadas tentaram tratar dos feridos, e viram a sua tentativa ser negada pelas forças da Nato. Como resultado desta atitude todos os alvejados acabaram por morrer.
O jornalista que divulgou tudo isto viu o seu relato a ser posto causa pela NATO e basicamente foi chamado de mentiroso.
A NATO afirmou que o jornalista tinha inventado factos e que tinha em seu poder uma gravação entre o jornalista e o porta-voz da NATO em que era evidente que o jornalista tinha distorcido as palavras do porta-voz. Claro está que o jornalista pediu uma cópia da tal cassete, mas vejam lá se adivinham se a cassete lhe chegou às mãos.

Hoje a Nato decidiu contar a verdade sobre o que realmente aconteceu, mas seja como for já nada devolve a vida àqueles afegãos que morreram numa ocupação ilegal feita na base da mentira e da ganância.

Excerto do relatório divulgado hoje pela NATO:

A thorough joint investigation into the events that occurred in the Gardez district of Paktiya Province Feb. 12, has determined that international forces were responsible for the deaths of three women who were in the same compound where two men were killed by the joint Afghan-international patrol searching for a Taliban insurgent.
The two men, who were later determined not to be insurgents, were shot and killed by the joint patrol after they showed what appeared to be hostile intent by being armed. While investigators could not conclusively determine how or when the women died, due to lack of forensic evidence, they concluded that the women were accidentally killed as a result of the joint force firing at the men.

Atenção à parte que está a vermelho porque ainda assim mostra que a NATO não é capaz de admitir toda a verdade. O primeiro homem ia a correr, e o segundo estava de mãos no ar a gritar que trabalhava para o governo. O que não me parece ser um comportamento nada hostil.

O primeiro relatório da NATO em que se tentou ocultar a verdade:

The joint force went to a compound near the village of Khatabeh, after intelligence confirmed militant activity. Several insurgents engaged the joint force in a fire fight and were killed. Subsequently, a large number of men, women, and children exited the compound, and were detained by the joint force. When the joint force entered the compound they conducted a thorough search of the area, and found the bodies of three women who had been tied up, gagged and killed. The bodies had been hidden in an adjacent room.

O ataque de carácter que se fez ao jornalista:

Additionally, Mr. Starkey incorrectly quoted Rear Adm. Greg Smith of ISAF when he did not include the word "armed" in the following sentence: "If you have got an [armed] individual stepping out of a compound, and if your assault force is there, that is often the trigger to neutralise the individual. You don't have to be fired upon to fire back."

E a explicação que deram para a mentira de terem encontrado as mulheres amarradas e amordaçadas pode também ser lida neste relatório:

The statement in the initial press release that the women had been "tied up, gagged and killed" came from initial operational reports. Based on subsequent reviews, those reports were based on a lack of understanding of local burial practices. The women's feet had been tied, and they had cloth straps that immobilized their jaws, evidently in preparation for burial.

Realmente é a operação Enduring Freedom. Liberdade para mentir, roubar, matar e enganar só se for!
